This article teaches you what the Data Compass Shop Analytics is and how you can use it to view important data at a glance as well as access detailed data numbers through entry points.

What is Data Compass Shop Analytics?

Data Compass Shop Analytics is a page that provides a bird's eye view or a quick glance at the important numbers of your store. But it's also a place where you can access detailed data pertaining to LIVE, videos, and Product Card by accessing the relevant sections.

This change impacts all sales-related metrics such as GMV, orders, SKU orders, items sold and relevant metrics such as GPM, CTOR (click to order rate) across Seller Center Shop Analytics, Affiliate Center, LIVE manager, LIVE dashboard, Seller App, Partner Center and Open API. Understanding Business Data on Data Compass

Entrance: Seller Center > Data Compass > Shop Analytics
  1. Key metrics is the main section on Shop Analytics which supports up to 8 metrics at a time. Key metrics include store's GMV, Gross Revenue, Items sold, AOV (SKU Orders), Orders, Buyers here or compare with the baseline period. Hover over the metric name for the metric description.
Not all metrics are available for real time reporting and won't appear when viewing "Today" or "Yesterday." Please select a longer time range to access all metrics.

  1. Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) = Price x Items sold + Shipping fees - Seller promotions - Platform co-funding. Sellers can select whether to view the GMV attribution by content type (LIVE, Shoppable video or Product Card) or by order source (Seller vs Affiliate Creator). The GMV breakdown here follows the date picker at the top.

  1. Gross Revenue (with platform subsidy) is simply GMV inclusive of platform subsidy. Seller may visit Seller Center > Marketing > Shop Ads page for all advertising related metrics

SummaryThis is the final amount paid by the customer when completing an order.This is the total gross revenue from all product sales on platform, plus any product discounts provided by platform (i.e. Platform Subsidy). This is the final withdrawable amount sellers receive after platform fees, logistic fees and adjustments are deducted from GMV.

  1. Set the time period between Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 28 days, Day, Week, Month or Custom. The performance data on Shop Analytics is available for up to 12 months.

  2. Display a trend chart by selecting at least one secondary metric. Sellers can later export results by clicking on the download button located in the upper right corner.

  1. GMV Ranking keeps you informed of the category leaders at the right corner. The list is based on your last 30 days GMV against your shop category.

FAQs

  1. Does the GMV shown on Data Compass equal to my income on the platform?
    • No. The GMV represented here is your Shop's performance inclusive of returns, refunds, and cancellations. For any financial concerns and queries, please visit the Finance page on the Seller Center.
  2. Why is there a difference between the GMV amount and Settlement Amount?
    • GMV is the sales value generated from sales on the platform, whereas Settlement is the final withdrawal amount sellers receive after platform fees, logistic fees and adjustments are deducted from the sales value. Head to this article here to get a better understanding.
  3. Can I view more detailed data with the Shop Analytics page on Data Compass?
    • Shop Analytics page is designed to make viewing top-line data (like GMV and Items sold) at a glance so you can stay on top of those important figures. That said, we have carefully and intentionally placed entry points throughout the page, so you can get closer data monitoring. For example, the Sales sources tab provides entrances to Livestreams Performance, Videos Performance, and Product card Performance.

    • Shop Analytics page presents the performance data in real time by default. If not, please click on the date picker to make sure "today" is selected.
