  1. Rice Listing Guidelines

1.1 Seller Requirements

All sellers that are listing rice on TikTok Shop must adhere to the regulatory framework as stated in the Control of Padi and Rice Act 1994 (Act 522). The following guidelines are to be followed:
  • All rice sellers on TikTok Shop are required to possess a Retail Rice License.
  • Sellers with Retail Rice Licence are only allowed to sell to the public, not exceeding one hundred kilograms (100 kg) at a time. However, seller's licence must be valid and the supplier must be from holders of Wholesale rice licence.
    • TikTok Shop will currently only support sellers with Retail Rice License Sellers

1.2 How Can Seller Apply for Rice Licence?

1.3 Consequences of Listing Rice Products without Licence

If the seller is flagged selling rice without license, or fails to provide the license, the product(s) listing will be removed, and the relevant authorities may initiate additional actions against the seller. Selling rice without licence is a violation and is included as an offence under Regulation 3 of the Padi and Rice Control Regulations (Wholesaler and Retailer Licensing) 1996 P.U. (A) 624/1996. Repeated offenses of re-uploading similar listings may lead to account suspension.
