How authorization works
There are two ways to use it:
- Account-level authorization (via CHR page)
This option may be used when:
- You want permission to repost content from another creator’s account.
- You want to grant another creator permission to repost your content.
- Video-level authorization (via a violation ticket)
This option may be used when:
- You reposted another creator’s video with their permission.
- You received an eligible violation and need the original content owner to confirm that permission.
If the original content owner approves the request, the related violation may be removed and the enforcement on the video may be lifted.
Authorization type | Where to access it | What it covers |
| Account-level authorization | Creator Health Rating page | Permission involving content from another creator’s account |
| Video-level authorization | Eligible violation-ticket details page | The individual video associated with the violation |
Three things to note:
- Every request needs the owner's decision. There is no automatic or sub-licensed authorization in this release — the original content owner must approve or grant each request.
- You can submit a minimum of 2 authorization requests. The more sales you generate, the higher your authorization request limit will be. You can check your current request limit directly in the tool to see how many authorization requests you can submit and whether you are eligible to submit a new request
- To keep the system fair for everyone: if the same owner declines you twice within 30 days, you can't send them new requests for the next 30 days. If 5 different owners decline you within 30 days, you can't start any new requests for 30 days.
- 3 video-level authorization requests per day
- And up to 3 account-level requests per day
- Once either limit is reached, additional requests must be resubmitted the next day.
- Each creator can receive up to:
How to request authorization from a violation ticket
Submit the authorization request before the violation’s appeal window closes. An authorization request does not extend the appeal deadline.- Open the eligible Unoriginal Content violation ticket. Open the details page.
- Tap Request Correction and select the original creator by their account handle. The platform runs a match check and reminds you if the account you picked doesn't look like the original creator.
- Confirm the request and set the permission end date (up to 1 year after the video's posting date). If you've reached your daily limit, you'll see a reminder.
- Add supporting evidence, if available. (Optional)
- Select Submit.
- Your request goes to the content owner and stays valid for 3 days.
- See the result. If the owner approves, the violation is revoked. If they decline — or don't respond within 3 days (auto-declined) — you can still file an appeal.
In your Unoriginal Content violation ticket, select Request Correction before the violation's appeal window closes.
If the request is:| Approved ✅ | The related violation may be removed and enforcement on the video may be lifted. |
| Declined ❌ | The violation will remain, but you may still be able to appeal depending on the ticket’s status and appeal deadline. |
| Not reviewed within 3 days | The request will be automatically declined. |

Should I request authorization or submit an appeal?
Use Request authorization when another creator owns the original content and you had permission to repost it.Use Appeal when:
- You created the original content.
- You believe the content was incorrectly identified as unoriginal.
- You believe the enforcement was applied by mistake.
Important things to know
- Authorization does not transfer ownership of the content.
- Permission cannot be passed to another creator. Each creator must receive authorization directly from the original owner.
- Do not delete the affected video or set it private while a violation-related request is under review. Doing so may make both authorization and appeal unavailable.
- Repeated declined requests may temporarily limit your ability to submit additional requests.
- Authorization can be granted for a maximum period of up to one year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the tool give me ownership of another creator’s content?
No. Authorization gives you permission to use the content under the approved terms and time period. The original creator continues to own the content.
What happens if the content owner does not respond?
The request is automatically declined after 3 days. For violation-related requests, you may still be eligible to appeal, depending on the violation status and the remaining appeal window.
Can I appeal and request authorization at the same time?
Yes. You may submit both an appeal and an authorization request at the same time. However, we recommend reviewing both options and selecting the one that best fits your situation. See above for details.
What happens if my request is declined?
The authorization will not take effect. If the request was connected to a violation ticket, the violation will remain unless it is successfully appealed or otherwise resolved.
Can I authorize another creator permanently?
No. You must select an authorization end date. The maximum available period is generally 1 year.
Can someone I authorized give my content to another creator?
No. Authorization cannot be sub-licensed. The additional creator must request permission directly from the original content owner.
Why can’t I find the Request Authorization button?
The option may be unavailable because:
- The violation is not eligible.
- Another authorization request is pending.
- The appeal or action window has closed.
- The video was deleted or set to private.
- You reached your daily request limit.
- Your request access is temporarily limited following repeated declined requests.
